WPML
A very popular plugin that lets you build multilingual WordPress websites. WPML ensures that pages, posts, menus, and taxonomies are cleanly manageable in multiple languages. You can create translations for each language, implement language switchers, and specify whether each language gets its own URLs or domains. In short: WPML turns a website into a veritable language galaxy without requiring a separate system for each language.
WPML turns a WordPress website into a multilingual one. It manages translations for each page, menu, and extension, and sets the language references so that Google understands which version belongs to which country.
The most important technical aspect is the hreflang tags. They must be reciprocal: If the German page links to the English one, the English page must link back; otherwise, Google will ignore both. And the effort involved is often underestimated: A second language not only doubles the text but also the maintenance.
