SERP
SERP stands for Search Engine Results Page, the page displaying search results. The term is often used as if it simply meant a list of blue links. That's outdated.
Today's search results page consists of many components: ads at the top, AI-generated overviews, a map showing local providers, expandable questions, videos, and images. As a result, traditional organic results are pushed down the page, sometimes far below the first screen.
For you, this means two things. Position one no longer equates to the first place on the screen. And there are more ways to get there than before: via the map, via the question box, via a video, via structured data.
Anyone who takes a moment to look at the search results page for their most important keywords will quickly realize which path is realistic. Sometimes, a listing in the company profile is more valuable than third place in the list.
