Frontend
The visible part of your website, meaning what visitors see and use in their browser. This is where design, text, images, forms, and navigation all come together. Everything you change in the backend becomes visible in the frontend. You could say: The frontend is the stage, the backend the control room.
The frontend encompasses everything that happens in the visitor's browser: structure, design, and behavior. It's the only layer your customers ever see, and simultaneously the one where loading time issues are most apparent.
The biggest chunks of data are almost always the same. Images account for 50 to 70 percent of the weight of a typical page, with JavaScript making up another 15 to 25 percent. Simply converting images to a modern format and delaying loading often halves the overall weight. Saving on CSS, on the other hand, rarely yields more than a few percent savings.
