Exit Pages

Marketing & Analysis

Exit pages are the last pages a user visits before leaving a website and are analyzed in analytics tools. In SEO, they help identify weaknesses in web design , such as reducing high bounce rates through improved navigation. This metric has been standard since the introduction of web analytics tools like Google Analytics in 2005.

Exit pages show where visitors leave a website. Unlike bounce rate, they don't focus on the entry point, but rather the end of an entire session. Some exits are perfectly normal, such as on the thank-you page after an inquiry.

Things get interesting in places where they shouldn't. For example: If 45 percent of all visitors leave the site on the pricing page and only 8 percent on the preceding services page, the reason is rarely the price itself, but usually a lack of clear categorization. What's included, what costs extra, what are the next steps?
