E-Store

Marketing & Analysis

E-store is short for electronic store and refers to an online platform for selling goods or services. In web design, it focuses on user-friendly elements such as product pages, search functions, and secure checkouts; in hosting , it requires robust infrastructure for high availability. Early forms emerged in the 1980s, for example, with the Boston Computer Exchange in 1982 as one of the first online marketplaces.

An online shop thrives on small details that no one notices as long as they work: real-time availability, correct shipping costs before the final click, a seamless payment process. Every additional step costs sales.

The biggest lever is the purchase process itself. Offering guest access instead of mandatory registration noticeably increases the conversion rate in practice, because around a quarter of all abandoned purchases occur precisely at this stage. And the number of form fields matters: reducing the number from 14 to 8 fields measurably shortens the process without losing a single piece of essential information.
