Disavow tool

SEO & GEO

The Disavow Tool is a Google tool in Search Console that allows you to reject harmful backlinks to avoid penalties. It's crucial in SEO for removing links that have been used in black-hat marketing practices.

The link disavowal tool is a last resort, not a maintenance tool. Google generally recognizes bad links itself these days and simply ignores them. Submitting entire lists unnecessarily can result in the loss of valuable links.

It only makes sense in one specific case: if there's a manual action taken due to unnatural links, or if it's obvious that someone has deliberately placed thousands of spam links. Before that, the rule is: first check the links, then contact the website owners, and only disavow what remains after that. For a healthy website with 200 referring domains, this tool is simply unnecessary.
