Dashboard

CMS & Technology

A dashboard is a central user interface in CMS or analytics tools that provides overviews of metrics such as traffic, performance, or content. In web design and SEO, it facilitates monitoring and optimization; examples include the WordPress dashboard or Google Analytics.

A dashboard consolidates key performance indicators (KPIs) into a single view. The most common mistake is over-comprehensiveness: showing everything reveals nothing. A useful dashboard answers the question of whether something requires attention in ten seconds.

Five to seven figures with comparative values have proven effective. So not "1.240 visitors," but rather "1.240 visitors, 12 percent more than the previous month." For a company website, the following are usually sufficient: visitors, inquiries, conversion rate, the five most successful pages, the five most popular search terms, and loading time. Everything else belongs in in-depth analysis, not at first glance.
