Bootstrap
Bootstrap is a free, responsive CSS framework for web design that offers predefined components such as grids, buttons, and navigation for quickly creating mobile-friendly sites. It supports JavaScript plugins and is easy to integrate into hosting environments; its fast loading times also contribute to improved SEO.
Bootstrap takes care of the basics for you: grids, buttons, forms, and behavior on small screens. This significantly speeds up the launch process. The trade-off is a certain uniformity; many Bootstrap pages are instantly recognizable to a trained eye.
The second price is weight. The full package includes around 190 kilobytes of CSS and 60 kilobytes of JavaScript, of which a typical page might use 15 percent. Including only the necessary components reduces the weight to about 30 kilobytes. On a page intended to weigh 500 kilobytes in total, that's the difference between one-third and five percent of the overall weight.
