Algorithm

SEO & GEO

In the context of SEO, an algorithm refers to the complex formulas that search engines like Google use to index, evaluate, and rank websites in search results. Important updates such as Panda (2011) and Penguin (2012) have combated spam and prioritized quality content; in web design and hosting, they influence optimizations for speed and mobile-friendliness.

For day-to-day work, what matters less is how the algorithm calculates, but rather what it rewards: content that truly answers a question, a page that delivers quickly and reliably, and a structure that both humans and machines understand. Those who follow these three points will also survive the next update.

To give you an idea of the scale: Google makes several thousand ranking changes every year, the vast majority of which go unnoticed. Only a handful are so-called core updates that have a visible impact. After such an update, the full rollout usually takes two to four weeks. Drawing conclusions after three days only provides an interim assessment.
